Vanman's tips for awesome orifice flange Iso's.The trickiest part is getting the Orifice plate to show up on the Iso. CADWorx doesn't have such an item. We could make a user component and change the SKEY, but using a 3mm gasket to simulate the plate and forcing an SKEY is way quicker. Draw the assembly, but use 3 gaskets. Pretend the middle one is the plate.
If we double click on the middle gasket and go into the isogen tab we will find that the gasket SKEY cannot be changed.
To get around this, we need to go back to normal CEDIT and force an SKEY by typing SKEY=OP for the orifice plate(check the Skeys.pdf in C:\CADWorx Plant 2007\Isogen\Isogen_Utils).
Back in ICEDIT we now see the SKEY has been changed, but now also need to change the identifier so as to not generate errors in the Iso.
Next finish up your assembly with pigtails and also to make the model look neat I have just modelled a 3mm disc in AutoCAD solids to represent the orifice plate. This will be ignored by Isogen as it has no xdata associated with it.
Isogen then produces a neat Iso but with the pigtails shown on the neck of the flange.
To fix this we need to use a different SKEY for the flanges. The Skey.pdf shows us to use the FOWN Flange SKEY. I Like looking at the actual SKEY in the symbols editor also, this often shows more info, like exactly where the Tap point for the components are. They are shown in yellow circles here.
Once again updating the SKEY's for the flanges...
...the iso now looks as it should. With the correct tapping positions.
